Scale the time axis

The time axis controls the horizontal space between candles. Scaling the time axis changes how many candles fit on the screen.

Make the candles wider when you want a closer look at their bodies and wicks. Make them narrower when you want to see more price history on the screen.

On a computer, drag horizontally on the time axis. On a touchscreen, spread two fingers to make the candles wider. Pinch two fingers together to make the candles narrower.

Scaling and panning are different actions. Scaling changes the candle width. Panning moves through the price history while the candle width stays the same. Watch the candles to see which action you are performing.

The chart remains on the one-day interval while you scale it. A wider candle still represents one day. Only its width on the screen changes.

First, make the candles wider for a closer look. Then make them narrower until Candles A and B are visible together. The second view helps you compare price action across a longer period.
