Different market hours
Markets follow different schedules. Cryptocurrency markets trade 24/7. Forex trades 24/5, closing for the weekend. Apple shares trade during Nasdaq’s regular session, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET on weekdays.

Look at the weekend columns in the schedule. Cryptocurrency trading continues throughout the weekend. Forex closes before the weekend and opens again on Sunday, while the regular stock market remains closed. When a market is closed, no new regular-session candles form.
This also changes what a daily candle contains. A cryptocurrency daily candle covers 24 hours of trading. An Apple daily candle covers its regular 6.5-hour market session. Both are shown as 1D candles because each represents one trading day for that market.
Apple can trade during after-hours and pre-market sessions, but a regular-session chart does not show those trades. If one daily candle closes at $190 and the next opens at $195, the chart shows a price gap between them. This can happen between any two trading days, not only over a weekend.
